Well I never!
So, as you know we have been ‘doing’ Frocktober, and I have brought you a few posts about some fab dresses I found, and I think you loved them too! I had so many messages, especially about the Laura Ashley Woodcraft Print Dress (the one in the sale!)
Well, imagine how excited I was to open my emails and find one from Great Plains! Had to check twice to make sure it was really for me! I LOVE Great Plains, there is a concession in our local boutique and I often go in to stroke things!
SO! They very kindly asked me to choose a dress – CRUMBS, how on earth to choose! Have you SEEN them? SOOOO many dresses, neeeeed all of them.
Anyway! after humming and haaaaing, settled on the Tania Tie Jersey Shift
I am a size 10/12 so plumped for a Medium and hoped for the best,
Here is the model wearing the dress
The fit is really good. I am very happy in a Medium, and I love the tie cuffs ( of COURSE I do, you know how I love a cuff) It is such a simple shape, with a seam down the front. I have teamed it with my Fir Cone Pendant, in rose gold and silver, and a pair of navy pull on boots from Boden sale (last year, but HERE is a similar pair with 25% off at time of writing) It is also forgiving enough to hide Christmas dinner underneath, so this may well be my Christmas Day outfit. (sorry! didn’t mean to mention the c word, it just slipped out!)
It’s one of those ‘take you anywhere’ dresses, a wardrobe staple. Dress up, pair down. Wear with thick tights and ankle boots, or bare legs and boots like me.
I love it!! Absolutely tickled pink!
Those that know me, know I can’t just stop there….
So, I also picked a couple of gorgeous pieces (oh ok, three… only three… more) for Autumn/Winter
Apparently a ‘paper bag’ waist band, is a thing, and to be honest this could have gone either way.. I am 40 something, I have had three children and I can look 5 months pregnant at the drop of a hat. So, choosing the FREYA BRUSHED COTTON CULOTTES was a bit of a risk!
I chose a 12 to be on the safe side, and have to say, once again, I am delighted! they fit like a glove and are the softest brushed cotton. I have been after a pair of culottes for ages!
Here is the model wearing them (look at that gorgeous waistband)
..and here is me
I picked THE most dreamy blouse to go with them. The Daniella Dobby Jersey Cuff Blouse
It is very see through, so I wore a cami underneath, although if I was off out for the evening and feeling brave, I might just wear a blatant dark navy t-shirt bra, and be done with it!
And last but not least, how about this for a fabulous top to wear with jeans….
Here’s the model for you – wearing the Charlotte Check Knot Detail Top
The model is wearing a SMALL, and since she is all slim and willowy, & I am none of those things, I decided to order a MEDIUM. It is cut very generously, so I wouldn’t worry too much about sizing, I could have worn a small or a large I reckon! The medium is lovely though and the fabric is super soft brushed cotton. Either I have short arms, or the model has long ones! the sleeves are more 3/4 length on me.
I teamed it with Beaumont split hem skinny jeans from Mint Velvet
and Alford Ankle Boots from Boden,
along with My Silver FirCone Necklace
Happy Shopping (pics above to illustrate just how tickled pink I am. Whilst feeling like a narna with hubby arriving & looking confused and asking ‘what are you doing and why is there a tripod in the bedroom’ Don’t worry darling, just bring me up some cake)
Well I never!
