There is no weakness in tears, they fall because we feel.
A Little Drop Of Strength is something we all need from time to time. My hope for each and every wearer is that they feel the imperfections within its fluid shape and remember that there is so much beauty in the imperfect.
With a nod to the shape of a drop of rain or a teardrop, its a reminder that after the rain, or after a good cry, everything feels better and can even flourish.
The shape is also a nod to a drop of blood, which was the impetus behind its design. You can read the story behind this necklace HERE – £20 from each sale will go to the charity of which I am ambassador, DKMS_uk, the stem cell registry. Every 20 minutes someone in the UK is diagnosed with blood cancer, my husband being one of them. I can report that he is doing well and is in remission.
There is a limited run of these necklaces but if you would like one in a length that is already sold out, please email me to register your interest and if I get enough of you to place an order, I will do. I order in batches of minimum 25. The necklaces are all sent to be hallmarked at the Birmingham assay office, with my own personal hall mark and the Drops are UK made from recycled sterling silver. Each drop is a weighty 11grams. The hall mark is a nod to the shape of a clover leaf, to add a little bit of luck from me, to the wearer. For this year 2020 they also have the rainbow hallmark added which the Birmingham Assay Office created to raise money for the NHS in this year of the pandemic. The rainbow is also a symbol of hope so I jumped at the chance of having the extra mark added to my hallmark. I also chose to have the hallmark in a more prominent place this time, as it is so beautiful!
The beautiful packaging, in the style of a book, was designed by All Things Mika who is a talented designer and friend of mine. Each page is a message to the reader to remind them how wonderful they are and to embrace any flaws, find the strength they need and to flourish.
I hope that anyone going through a struggle, a tough time and finding challenges difficult, will wear it and find comfort. And when they twirl it’s imperfect, fluid shape between their fingers, they are reminded that there are others doing the same, all feeling the identical imperfections and all comforted by it and feel the strength they need to overcome whatever challenge they are facing.
It was designed with thought and love, and I hope you feel that when you wear yours. xxxx
