A Little Drop Of Strength on a 16”/18” chain

A Little Drop Of Strength

This is the page for the 16/18” chain – meaning it adjusts easily depending on the length you prefer.

I’m so proud of this necklace that I designed out of Blu- Tack on a desk in Melton Mowbray, and incredibly proud that it’s made in England from solid recycled silver and is hallmarked at Birmingham Assay with my own personal hallmark. Please note that the dips and bumps you will notice, are very much purposely there. I designed the Drop using Blu-Tack and we had a long meeting about how I didn’t want the marks to be smoothed out to perfection by the time the wax mould was made. Each piece is then hand cast, highly polished, sent to the assay for hallmarking, returned to have it’s chain attached and then is sent to me. So it’s been through quite a process. My hallmark or makers mark,  is a nod to the shape of a clover leaf, to add a little bit of luck from me, to the wearer.

It’s got a lovely weight to it and is so tactile to touch.

Each necklace will arrive in it’s own box with a pack of affirmation cards, each card having been thoughtfully designed to remind the wearer that they are not alone and that they are loved.

A wise woman once said to me ‘There is no weakness in tears, they fall because we feel’ and those words really stuck with me, my eyes leak at the drop of a hat – happy tears, sad tears – they fall because we feel don’t they. These are the words that hold the cards together in the box for that reason.

A Little Drop Of Strength is something we all need from time to time. My hope for each and every wearer is that they feel the imperfections within its fluid shape and remember that there is so much beauty in the imperfect. That no one’s road is ever straight forward but it’s the bumps along the way that shape you in to the beautifully flawed person you are.

With a nod to the shape of a drop of rain or a teardrop, its a reminder that after the rain, or after a good cry, everything feels better and can even flourish.

I hope that anyone going through a struggle, a tough time and finding challenges difficult, will wear it and find comfort. And when they twirl it’s imperfect, fluid shape between their fingers,  they are reminded that there are others doing the same, all feeling the identical imperfections and all comforted by it and feel the strength they need to overcome whatever challenge they are facing.

It was designed with thought and love, and I hope you feel that when you wear yours.

I truly believe that each of these necklaces will find their way to their new owner, they are so special.

If you would like a solid gold, platinum or any other precious metal – please do get in touch as I am able to take requests.

The shape is also a nod to a drop of blood, which was the impetus behind its design. You can read the story behind this necklace HERE – £20 from each sale will be donated to the charity of which I am ambassador, DKMS_uk, the stem cell registry. Every 20 minutes someone in the UK is diagnosed with blood cancer, my husband being one of them. I can report that he is doing well and is in remission 🙂
